Team Yankee Huey Cobras and Mi-24 Hinds

Recently, I completed these for a client. They are 1/100th scale (15mm) and were among the first releases for the Team Yankee range from Battlefront. They went together well and were a joy to paint.They should look great on the gaming table.

Matilda II re-paint.

My WW2 Soviet Army needed a Lend Lease Matilda II tank for a rapidly approaching game. The original model (see last photo) was a 1/72 pre-built diecast (by Altaya, I think) and was not a bad representation of the real thing. It took about three hours of work, but that was spread out over three days as a couple of stages involved letting washes dry overnight. I think it turned out OK.

It is based on photos taken in Ukraine in 1944 that show vehicles that the Russians themselves had repainted, covering over the British Army paint scheme and markings.

28mm Reaper Miniatures Knight, Paladin or Royal Hero.

It was a friend's birthday recently, so i painted this up for him. It's from the 'Dark Heaven Legend' range by Reaper Miniatures and was sculpted by Werner Klocke.

Dwarf Pig Cavalry - finished!

A little while back, I finally managed to finish the Piggies. I made them a flag, finished off the bases and took some pic's.

Cold War M1 tanks

Here are the latest models painted for Team Yankee, six M1 tanks. The client knows that these never saw the Winter Verdant MERDEC camouflage, but he wanted his whole force to be the same. I can understand that. The models are 15mm (1/100th) made by Battlefront.


 

John Wayne in 28mm

Wargames Illustrated have a range of 28mm figures called "Giants in Miniature". There are lots really nice figures and this was the first one that they brought out. They call it after the lead character in the movie 'Sands of Iwo Jima' , John M Stryker, who was played by John Wayne. All the figures are limited to a production run of just 500. I completed this recently for a client who also wants me to paint more from the same range, so stay tuned.

S&S Office body for Altaya Zil 131

Shaun of S&S models ( S and S Models ) asked me to paint up the office body he had mastered to go on the chassis of the Altaya Zil131 cargo truck. I think it turned out OK.  Altaya do make a Zil131 with an office body but it is hard to find and is expensive. Shaun's model is a cheap and cheerful alternative, for the wargamer, to that and to the ICM kit. It is due out very soon.

15mm (1/100th) BMPs

These are part of a commission to paint a couple of Team Yankee forces. They are 15mm (1/100th) scale models produced by Battlefront Miniatures. They are nice little kits (approx 7x3 cm) and the detail is well done being just enough to emphasize without being over done.

Reaper Miniatures Dwarfs

For a while I have been thinking of starting a band of Dwarfs to use with rule sets such as Frostgrave, Dragon Rampant and Song of Blade and Hero. Reaper do some lovely figures and I've been buying some, on and off, for a year or so now. This week I decided to treat myself and allow some of them to jump the paint queue.


 
















 

Still not quite mastered the new camera. I think I know why these came out a bit over exposed.

I hope to do another batch in a week or two. First, I need to finish some other things, like the Piggies!

15mm PSC T-34

I don't normally dabble in the smaller scales, but I found a box of Plastic Soldier Company 15mm T-34s that I had long forgotten about. Still a WIP with some more weathering to do yet. Photographed against a cm grid.

Frostgrave

This weekend I have finished a commission to paint a number of Frostgrave figures. I think they came out OK.
